Lotus Lake Mui Ne is a famous natural freshwater lake in Vietnam, which has been quite popular among tourists especially, for its amazing picturesqueness. About the lake. The lake has two separate parts located right next to each other. And what makes the lake so scenic is the fact that it's surrounded by a series of white sand dunes. About 1 hours towards Nha Trang (45 kms) from Mui Ne by car or motorcycle, the White Sand Dunes, the other sand dunes of the Mui Ne area, are less visited but beautiful in the early morning or later afternoon light. The White Dunes are located about 60 minutes' drive north of Mui Ne, well beyond the red dunes on the road towards Nha Trang. Try to go early, or at sunset. The dunes are striking and worth a visit by themselves but they border a serene lake filled with lotus blossoms. The reason behind its popularity is the presence of white sand dunes just adjacent to the lake, making it another marvel of nature. Out of the two areas in which Lotus Lake is divided, namely the Small Lake and the Large Lake, the Large Lake Bau Ba is spread over an area of around 70 Hectares, and is around 19 meters deep. First, they tried to make us ride a bicycle which could float which was way cheaper than the kayaks we refused and they gave us the kayaks, 5 mins into the paddle we were sinking, and the name... there are no lotus flowers. If visiting the dunes do not even bother with the lake.
